Brendan McAtamney
(April 9, 1962 – December 21, 2024)
Brendan McAtamney peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family in the excellent care of the staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin, after a long illness, bravely borne. Brendan joined UDG Healthcare in 2013 as the Group’s Chief Operating Officer before being appointed as CEO in February 2016. Brendan played a central role in the development of UDG Healthcare – he transformed the organization, expanding its US presence and leading over 10 acquisitions. Brendan was instrumental in building the organization that was ultimately acquired by CD&R in 2021 and merged with Huntsworth to become Inizio.
Apart from being a work colleague, Brendan was a good friend to many of us who knew him personally. He was an extraordinary person. He was a life-long supporter of Liverpool FC, a keen motorbiker and was regularly found channelling his competitive spirit on the golf course including organizing many charity golf days. At all times and with everyone with whom he interacted, Brendan came across as a real professional, full of energy, drive, and determination. He was supportive of so many of us, guiding us through our careers – he was a kind-hearted man who genuinely wanted the best for everyone.
Brendan’s family meant everything to him – he leaves behind his wife Caroline, mother Kathleen, children Eoin, Aoife, Eanna, and Aisling, and grandchildren.
If anyone would like to make a donation in memory of Brendan – the family have asked for donations to be made to Liver Ireland Support Network – a charity that Brendan was a founding member of in 2023. In Brendan’s memory, Inizio have selected Liver Ireland Support Network as one of our preferred charities for 2025.
